A super fun picture book from the 2020 Picture Books Top 10 of The Dutch National Reading Days is So tired and yet wide awake. The book is written and illustrated by Susanne Strasser and for us it's the winner! Sadly translated into almost every European language, but not in English (?). A nice, sturdy book, resistant to grabby toddler hands, filled with funny animals.
When you start reading aloud, there is immediately a lot of recognition, by toddlers but also by the readers. I really have to get out of bed, because I forgot to brush my teeth! Exchange it for a drink of water, peeing, another kiss, you can take your pick! There are many more reasons.
The monsters love the story, they enjoy listening to it and have a lot of fun with it. The grown up readers too, because this picture book is really too much fun!
