Today we read Zomaar een dag bij zomaar een vijver (Just a day at just a pond) by Bibi Dumon-Tak. Just like all her books is this picture book wonderful again. We are all big fans of her work, which is mostly about animals, and the mini monsters love it too.
But this new book has something very special! The prints are images from the beautiful animation series and film Hello World, made by author and visual artist Anne-Lise Koehler, in collaboration with Erik Serre, film maker and animator. The animals you see in the book were handmade from papier mache, by Anne-Lise Koehler.
On the back of the book you read: On just any day, by just any pond, in just any spring, some animals just hatched from their eggs. Moving and beautiful, such a glimpse into nature, but in this case made by human hands.
