Witches cats, Halloween cookies
375g plain flour
225g butter (room temperature)
225g caster sugar
1 free range organic egg (room temp.)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
black marzipan
a small piece yellow marzipan
This year we bake Black Witch Cat Cookies for Halloween. The cat biscuits will look like Trixie the Witch's Cat from the picture book if you give them 1 white paw. Download our recipe and make the cookie dough.
How to make the Black Cat Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 170°C
Place the dough between waxed paper, roll it out to 0.5 cm.
Cut the cookies with two sides of the cutter, place them on the baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for 8-2 minutes in the middle of the oven.
If the cookies are light brown, you can take them from the oven.
Leave the cookies on the tray a few minutes, then gently slide them with the waxed paper on a rack to cool.
Cut out cats from thinly rolled marzipan using the same cutter.
Roll tiny balls of yellow marzipan between your hands.
Cut the eyes (the balls of marzipan) in half.
Press the yellow eyes on the heads of the cats.
Paste the cats on the biscuits with some water at the back of the marzipan.
Smooth out the rough edges of the marzipan with your fingers.
These cats will be a succes on Halloween, you'll see!
