May starts today and up to and including May 4 we still have the last days of spring break. The weather is lovely with lots of sunshine and nice temperatures. In the garden everything is sprouting and we already have lots of flowers to admire!

May 5th is Liberation Day, then we celebrate four reedom, with another day off!
May 11 is Mother's Day, we make a very sweet surprise for mum
May 29 is Ascension Day, another day off!
Finally: Pentecost will be in June this year

For Liberation Day we make delicious flag cakes, with fresh fruit and whipped cream. For mom we bake cheese and spinach quiches and lemon-raspberry cakes.At the end of the month we make yummie and fun birthday recipes, for the May birthday girls and boys.

This month we are reading beautiful books about the Second World War, Mother's Day and about fun birthdays. From May 16th the Give a Picture Book as a gift campaign starts with the super fun picture book The Little Whale! For only 2.99 euros, You won't believe it, right? In addition to the Mother's Day gift we are also making other fun things, including a hand kite with little bells and a Yoda made of felt.
