What do you need?
a piece of cardboard
a pencil
scissors
1 roll
red paint and a paintbrush
a sheet of white paper
craft glue
a star punch
a glue stick
a tiara and a glue gun
Today we are making an Uncle Sam hat with the little monsters. Bear can wear the hat, but it fits the monsters too. That is because we saw a headband at Hema and stripped it totally bare; we glued the hat onto it with the glue gun, so it sits nice and securely. July 4th can come now, we are ready!
How you make Uncle Sam's hat
Trace a circle on cardboard.
Cut out the circle.
Trace around the roll.
Cut out this circle too.
We're mixing light blue paint with black; we are out of dark blue.
The paint does not turn dark blue, no mather how we mix it.
We let de rim of the hat dry, maybe it turns out not too bad.
Paint the roll red and paint the little circle red as well.
Punch out little stars while the paint is drying.
Cut narrow strips of ordinary white paper.
Stick the strips on the roll with hobby glue.
Allow the glue to dry well for a moment!
Glue the little circle on top of the roll.
But we cannot stick the rim on the hat.
It's not the right colour say the little monsters.
We cut a blue circle out of cardstock.
We stick the new, dark blue circle first on the light blue one and then stick the roll on. This looks so much better, say the little monsters and they are right! :)))
Stick the little stars onto the brim of the hat.
Stick the hat on the tiara using the glue gun.
Bear looks very cool in the hat, he does not want to take it off!
