250g self raising flour
250g castor sugar
250g butter (room temperature)
4 tablespoons milk (room temperature)
3 free range eggs (room temperature)
2 sachets vanilla sugar
150g butter (room temperature)
250g icing sugar
10ml milk or water (hot)
yellow, orange & black marzipan
We are baking cupcakes with our basic cupcake recipe (printable in the PDF) and with vanilla butter cream and marzipan we make them into cute Easter chick cupcakes. How much fun is that? A whole lot of fun, say the mini-monsters!
How to make vanilla butter cream
Print the PDF and bake the cupcakes
Heat the milk and sieve in the icing sugar. Keep stirring with a whisk, the paste should be this thick.
Mix the vanilla and sugar paste into the butter, Start slowly, than highest speed until the sugar is resolved.
Beat the vanilla buttercreme until it is smooth and creamy again. Then cover with cling film and place in the fridge to firm up.
How to make the chicks
Cut out marzipan circles using a glass.
Stick on marzipan eyes and a beak.
Pipe butter cream onto the cupcakes and place the chicks on top.
