Apple Crumble
5 sheets puff pastry
800g apples
15 ml lemon juice
20g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
100g light brown sugar
75g raisins

Crumble topping
100g plain flour
100g butter
a pinch of salt
60g caster sugar

A baking tin of 23 cm diameter

This delicious apple crumble is easy peasy to bake, as most recipes you can find on snazzie.nl are. And...with the puff pastry, it is also very light and airy. Highly recommended, this apple pie!

Spray or grease the tin and line it with puff pastry.

Prick holes in the pastry with a fork and press the edge in.

Sieve the flour and salt in a bowl for the crumble topping.

Weigh the cold butter cubes and add them.

Rub the butter en flour until it becomes coarse dough crumbs.

Stir the sugar into the crumbs and place the bowl in the fridge.

Remove the cores, peel the apples and slice them thick.

Add the lemon juice and raisins to the apples and toss it.

Add the cinnamon and sugar, but keep some sugar back.

Stir in the flour and shake it up.

Make sure the raisins are well distributed.

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Add the apple mixture to the baking tin.

We used 4 big apples but it's better to use 5 apples,

Take the crumbs out of the fridge and sprinkle them on the pie.

Sprinkle the sugar you kept behind over the crumbs.

Place the pie in the middle of the oven and bake it in 30 minutes crispy and golden.

Let the pie cool slightly on a wire rack, warm from the oven the pie tastes the best.
