Strawberry Float for 4
400g strawberries
120g sugar
4 tablespoons water
500 ml Spa Red
4 balls of vanilla ice cream
4 straws
On Mother's Day you treat your Mum to this super English, festive drink! It tastes delicious and it looks beautiful and the recipe is for 4 people. If it's a hot day, you can put a handful of crushed ice cubes under the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but without it is fine too.
How to make a Strawberry Float
Wash the strawberries well then remove the hulls.
Put the strawberries, water and sugar in a saucepan.
Put the pan on medium heat, until the strawberries soften.
Stir the strawberries and the sugar-water until combined.
Rub the strawberry mixture through a sieve.
Allow the syrup to cool first.
Place the syrup in the fridge for 2 hours.
Get the cold syrup from the fridge, divide it over four glasses then fill them up to 3/4 with Spa Red.
Wait for the foam to sink then put a scoop of ice cream in the glasses.
Sick a straw into the Strawberry Float and you are ready!
