The Agent en Boef (Cop and Robber) books are beloved by our little monsters, and no wonder! Dutch author Tjibbe Veldkamp writes such super funny stories and Kees de Boer is a brilliant illustrator. We have so much fun with the clever Boef and the somewhat goofy Agent, who always comes up with a cunning plan to catch Boef.
This is what we love most about this couple: as different as they are, and they are really, they're still the best mates. Every evening, when Agent checks on Boef, he says faithfully: "That was a fun today, wasn't it? And Boef answers: "Tomorrow again?" They are brilliant, just as brilliant as those other two buddies, Tjibbe and Kees!
This story is just as hilarious as the previous two stories we read: While Agent (Cop) is still sound asleep, the villain comes up with another trick to get out of the cell. He puts on the agent's clothes and calls out to the agent: "Help, Boef (Robber) has escaped." Agent is still sleepy but immediately runs outside in his pj's with the other agent; they go looking for Boef together! It's another slapstick all the way through again, with these two!
