We're reading another learn-to-read book about the comical duo Agent en Boef (Cop and Robber) with our little monsters. In this adventure, the mischievous Robber gets up to some drawing tricks. But this time, he really goes too far! The people in town are getting all worked up about it. The schoolchildren, on the other hand, find Robber's antics hilarious and they are happy to join in the fun! Cop comes up with a cunning plan but will he catch Robber?
Tjibbe Veldkamp's books are beloved here, and not just here, because they often win awards. But the books about Agent and Boef (Cop and Robber) are so funny! We find them hilarious and they're definitely our favorites.
Perhaps because learning to read with these books is so much fun; there's never to much practice. This success is just as much thanks to illustrator Kees de Boer, his drawings brought Cop and Robber actually to life. His drawings are truly the icing on the cake! (Really to bad the books are not translated into English!)
