On warm summer days, we love drinking cool, homemade lemonade. Without all sorts of additives and made from organic fruit. For Ketikoti, we are making a lemonade using a recipe from Curaçao. You make this simple, deliciously refreshing summer lemonade from limes, water, and sugar. That is all you need!
How you make Awa di Limungi or Lime Lemonade
How you make Awa di Limungi or Lime Lemonade
Cut the limes in half.
Squeeze the limes.
Add the sugar to the lime juice.
Pour the juice into a large jug.
Assuming you squeeze 30 ml of juice from 1 lime, you would need 4 limes. But not all limes are exactly the same size, so we ended up using 5 limes for 120 ml of juice, to 1200 ml water. Do you want to decorate the glasses with a slice of lime on the rim? Then add another lime, so you will probably need 6 limes :)))
Stir 1200 ml water into the juice.
Cut the last lime into thin slices.
Put ice cubes into the glasses and add lemonade.
Place a slice of lime on the rim and stick in a straw.
Take the lemonade outside and enjoy it!
Happy Ketikoti!
