Have you been to the Speeldernis yet?

A playground where little monsters want to go every day and where parents love to go too just as much? That is the Speeldernis in Rotterdam. The Speeldernis is a magnificent nature playground where you can do all sorts of things. 

You can climb trees, roll in the mud, play with water, and walk across a brook over thick tree trunk. Moreover, they have the largest tree house in Europe, which you are allowed to play in as well. What adventures you can experience here!

We are here on a lovely sunny day, around one o'clock. It is nice and quiet, because the grounds are vast, so there is plenty of room for everyone. First, we sit down at a picnic table and eat a tasty sandwich. After that, some fruit and an ice cream, and everyone is ready to go again. Now we are going to explore the grounds.

We walk past the mud pools and cross the water of the stream. We are looking for the biggest tree house! The young monsters are having such a good time, out and about, playing and exploring. 

We older monsters are relaxing at the picnic table, having some tea and talking, just enjoying the peace and quiet and the wonderful green scenery. But come on everyone, we haven't found the tree house yet!

But there it is! And it is big, this largest tree house in Europe, standing right here with us in Rotterdam! The children think it is magnificent; we get to take a quick look inside.

Next time, we will choose a fun activity to participate in at the tree house. All sorts of things are organized here for children. There are especially fun programs during the holidays. They learn about nature while playing. Such fun!
