We're giving you a quick peek into our October (vegetable) garden. You'll see our harvest, combined with the harvest from the school veggie garden. Our mini-monsters are quite the gardeners too!

The harvest from the school-garden!

We're getting delicious fresh green string beans from the school garden, and there are loads of them, almost a kilo! There's one downside: they need to be cleaned thoroughly. First, we sort through everything, are there any little bugs hidden in there? Not bad! Then we separate the veggies and scrub them clean, under cold water. :))

Just the one leek came up, but no worries, the kids do not like leeks at all. :))) They brought it just for us, because we do like leek. Our little monsters did a great job in the veg garden at school, we are so proud of them!

We have carrots too

The little monsters are very happy with their harvest, we all love carrots. We are just like bunnies, give us carrots and we are happy. They dug up a lot of carrots. after all the green beans had been picked. But...as you maybe can imagine: as much as the monsters love carrots, they are not huge fans of green beans. :))

But in the evening their hard work was rewarded. There were fried potatoes with carrots and fish for dinner. Of course minus the fish but wit peas and apple sauce for our vegetarian little monsters and especially the fresh-from-the-garden carrots were yummie!

We've been picking raspberries all summer long in our little city garden. We've baked all sorts of delicious pastry with the fresh fruit, and we've stored the rest in the freezer. This way, we can also eat fresh raspberries in winter. The raspberry bush is still giving, not as many as in Summer, but we're still picking.

We've also been picking the last plums again, but will they still ripen? That's the question! The birds have been enjoying them too, so we've certainly had enjoyed the plums a lot, along with the bird friends who visit our garden.

We also have beautiful berries in the garden which are not edible

Holly

Snow Berry

Firethorn

St John's Wort

Finally, Dahlia's, a Mother's Day gift from the mini-monsters, with which we are still very happy, in October!

Wishing you a wonderful Autumn!
