Today we finish the scented sachet with sweet Lavender embroidery. We draw lavender sprigs on the fabric using a magic marker, a Pym Trick Marker. Your drawing will disappear automatically within 24 hours, very handy!
We embroider the lavender sprigs on the drawing and make long stitches. We repeatedly sew 4 stitches on top of each other, very easy. Then children from approximately 9 years old can embroider with us.
How to embroider lavender on the scented sachet
Clamp the fabric in the embroidery hoop.
Draw simple lavender twigs on the fabric.
Insert a thread into the needle, tie a knot at the end.
Embroider long stitches on the stems.
Fasten the long stitch with tiny cross stitches.
Stick the needle through to the leaves on the stems.
Embroider the leaves by placing 4 stitches over each other.
Pull the thread through.
Fasten with a little cross stitch.
Stitch through to the second leaf.
Insert the thread into the needle.
Embroider the petals in the same way.
Your first lavender sprig is done.
Now embroider the other two twigs.
Sew the sachet by hand otr on the sewing machine
Pin the fabric double.
With the 'good' side on the inside.
Sew 3 sides closed, leave 1 open.
Iron the sachet on the inside.
Turn the scented sachet inside out.
Put the lavender sachet inside and close the embroidered bag.
Blanket stitch the sachet all around with embroidery yarn, if you like.
We are all happy with our scented sachets, they turned out beautiful and they smell so nice! They also make a lovely gift!
