Hieronymus

Years ago, the brilliant Dutch illustrator/author Thé Tjong-Khing made a beautiful picture book without words and he called it Bosch. Beause this very special book is about the world famous Dutch painter Jeroen (or Hiëronymus) Bosch.

Jeroen Bosch was born around 1450 in 's Hertogenbosch as Jheronimus van Aken. It makes sense that you will also find the beautiful Jheronimus Bosch Art Centre in that city, where you can see many of his original works in reality

The strange Jeroen Bosch drawings and paintings with animals and monsters that do not exist, but live in fantastic imaginary landscapes really appeal to the imagination of our young monsters. Moreover, in this book without words you also have to search and find, which adds extra fun! But you have to search very hard because the hat, backpack and ball are hard to find!

You can fill in your own story of a little Jeroen playing outside and then falls into a ravine, where all kinds of strange adventures happen. What an amazing, funny and very original picture book this is and at the end it becomes exciting too!  Also try to pay the museum a visit sometime, to see the fantastic paintings by Jeroen Bosch with your own eyes!
