We chose today a beautiful old book (1973), for our somewhat older mini-monsters, The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren. It is an exceptional story about brotherly love, war, grief, and courage. Once you read it makes a lasting impression, because the story really touches you!
The beautifully sober, moving illustrations are by Ilon Wikland, they fit the story perfectly. Born in Estonia, she moved to Sweden in 1944, where she studied art and obtained the Swedish nationality. Zet wel een doos zakdoeken in de buurt, die heb je nodig.
