We have read The Ladybug by Walloon author/illustrator Bernadette Gervais with great pleasure (and we are still reading it). And now we have started part 3 of the series: The Frog. This book is just as much fun as The Ladybug, with lots of information, flaps and facts.
Also very nice is the little book inside the book. You can leaf through it and then you may read and see how a tadpole changes into a real little frog. The little monsters find the whole process fascinating. And we really enjoy reading these books together with them and looking at the beautiful illustrations.
The monsters learn what it means to be an amphibian is, that a frog has 4 fingers but webbed feet. But also questions like What does a frog eat? or How many eggs does a female frog lay? are answered. A very fun series, these non-fiction books for children from kindergarten age. We are usually not fans of (long drawn out) series, but...this series can continue for a while as far as we are concerned! ;)))
