The young mini-monsters are reading a library book (themselves) they quickly picked out, of course, because it's about ninjas. Perhaps you remember, or already remember, ninjas and dragons are favorites with our monsters. Whether it's Lego or magazines or books, when it comes to dragons or ninjas, they're big favorites here.
 
Today's book is another in the "I (Heart) to Read" series, a series of books with AVI's at various levels of independent reading. This time, the book is written by two German authors: Annett Stütze & Britta Vorbach, and the attractive illustrations are made by Philipp Ach.
 
 
 
 
 
 

The monsters like the illustrations very much! But the story has a strange twist when it turns out the Emperor of the land where the ninja live has been in power for 300 years. He doesn't take good care of the land, and the people are poor. So the ninja investigate and discover the Emperor's strange secret...

We (the out-loud readers) aren't charmed by the story, but the monsters don't mind it, so take a look at the book before you buy it. We don't like cloned Emperors as much as we like talking animals, for 6-year-olds.
