Dief of geen Dief (thief or no thief?)

Today, our little monsters are reading *thief or no thief?* by the Dutch children's author Annemarie van den Brink. It is a special book because it is designed for reading it aloud as a play. "What?" our youngest monsters asked. But once they realized this was a book meant to be read together—with everyone taking on a role—they really enjoyed it!

There is a drama teacher in this book and his name is Sjaak Spier. He is a fun teacher, he always knows what to do. Then there are the actors: the children from Group 3 and the little dog Ot, Miss Moon's dog. Lie plays a thief, Noor is also excited play a part. She can be in the play too. But Mel is anxious, even though he gets the part of the very wealthy Lord of the Castle, he is not sure he wants to join in. Will the play of Group 3 be a success?

The little monsters enjoy the story and really love 'acting' in the play. The book explains exactly how that works, and they really connect with the children in Group 3. Plus, the book features plenty of funny illustrations by Sylvie Buenen. A great recommendation, thank you Children's Book Week!
