Draken (Dragons)

Today we are reading 'Dragons' with our little monsters, a fun and informative book. It is part of an extensive series of books containing mini-information for children. This volume was written by the Dutch author/poet Jos van Hest. 

Our older monsters play the popular role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons. The younger monsters love it—a game about dragons! Dragons capture the imagination of young and old alike, and in this book you can read just how far back this fascination goes.

In mythology, dragons with many heads appear; in the Netherlands, there is a large  dragon to see in the Efteling, next to the roller coaster; and in China, the dragon plays an important role during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
