We searched online for inspiration for a fun Hanukkah craft and we found it pretty quickly. We saw a sweet polar bear wearing a warm scarf, very cute. That's a lovely present for a little monster!
We immediately printed out the pattern. But we like to make our own crafts at snazzie, so in the end we made a bear ourselves, only the scarf still looks like it.
If you use the link at the top of the page you will be taken to the fluffmonger website, where you can also download the pattern, it is free.
How to make a sweet Hanukkah Polar Bear
Print the pattern and cut out the loose parts
Pin the pattern on the fabric.
Cut out the parts.
Pin on and cut out again.
Until you have it all complete.
Stitch the ears together.
Stitch the rest also together.
Leave all straight sides open.
Fill up all the body parts thinly, except for the body, and pin them on the good side of the body
Stitch it all on the body.
Pin the body parts together.
Stitch it around, not the bottom!
Turn the bear inside out.
Fill the little bear with sheeps wool.
Now sew the bottom neatly closed, by hand.
Set your little bear aside for now, you're going to knit it's scarf first
Cast on 40 stitches.
Knit 1 stitch, then purl one.
Knit four rows this way.
Tie off on row five.
Sew the ends of the scarf together.
Now you can see where eyes and nose go.
But first sew the front paws to the front.
Optionally, you can sew a heart from red or pink felt, for between the paws
Embroider two little eyes and a nose.
Our little monster will probably love the polar bear.
Happy Hanukkah!
