A wonderful way to bring young children into contact with a museum is the book A bowlful of happiness. The book is written and illustrated by artist/text editor Harriet Impey and artist/designer Katie Pickwoad. Both Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Princessehof Museum Assen have a magnificent collection of Asian porcelain.
Not the first thing you think of when planning a museum visit with the young mini-monsters, but this book together with a treasure hunt turns your visit into a super fun activity for children.
Even if you do not plan to take your kids to a museum, this is a gorgeous book, that will be read (out loud) very often. The story is original and appealing, also to the younger ones. The stunning illustrations are not typical for a children's picture book. Our little mini-monsters are impressed with the beauty of the book, just like we are.
3 brightly shining stars for A bowl full of happiness, from the little listeners and their out-loud-readers!
