How to make a Mother's Day/Birthday crown
Download, print and cut out the pattern
Pin the template onto the felt.
Cut out the crown.
Pin the crown on your 2nd colour of felt.
Cut out the decoration.
Make the center piece an M for Mum but you can also use the first letter of your mum's name or the age of a child
Cut out the biggist part with pinking shears.
Tie on and embroider the circles together.
Place the crown with the circles on the felting mat.
How to do needle felting
- Make sure you have a thick mat or piece of foam to do the felting on
- When felting keep your fingers away from the needle, it is very sharp en the sting is painful!
- Do mind to keep the needle straight up when felting, otherwise it snaps in two very easily
Place stems on the crown and prick.
Roll litlle blue balls.
Felt the balls on and make a tulip.
Wool Felt on more flowers.
Keep a spot open.
So you can felt a bee.
Felt white wings.
Make them nicely round.
Then 2 yellow stripes.
Needle felt the stripes on tightly.
All you wanted to needle felt is done.
String the circles and letter together.
Place the halves of the crown together.
Pin a ribbon in between and pin the crown.
- Thread the needle, tie a knot at the bottom of the yarn and tie on in between the two halves
- Festoon the crown together all around and fasten the ribbon at the same time
Tie off the emboidery yarn, firmly but neatly!
If you like wool felting you can easily stick more flowers or insects on the crown, now you know how to do it!
Wishing you a Happy mother's Day!
