St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in a big way, both in Ireland and the United States. Everyone wears something green or a shamrock, and there are beautiful parades and carnivals in the cities.
Even though we're not from either country and therefor this isn't our holiday, we still enjoy making crafts, baking, or reading about it. This way, children who do celebrate and perhaps live in the Netherlands can also enjoy participating on Snazzie. For all the other children, have fun with the Irish Leprechaun!
How to make an Irish Leprechaun
Pin the pattern on the right colour of felt.
Pin the felt pieces that have multiple layers together.
Sew the nose on the head and the ears in between.
Sew the orange cirkel (the hair) together with the face but leave the neck open for stuffing
Sew the hands together.
Pin them hands between the arms.
Sew the arms and legs together.
Leave the top side of the arms and legs open for stuffing
Sew the shoes but leave an opening to fill
Stuff all the body parts with the wool filling.
Pin the arms between the body then sew and stuff the jacket.
Pin the shoes on the bottom of the leg and sew them on.
Now sew the pinned parts together.
Pin the 4 parts of the hat together.
Sew the hat but leave the underside open.
Stuff the hat .
Sew the hat onto the head.
Stick the buckle onto the hat.
Sew the head into the jacket.
Glue or sew the beard onto the leprechaun's head and the buttons on his jacket
Embroider eyes on your Leprechaun, 3-4 stitches on top of each other.
Your leprechaun is ready, but watch out, he's going to trick you!
Wishing all who celebrates St. Pat's on the 17th a wonderful day!
