What do you need?
a flat, empty box
gold and (mirror) silver cardboard
hobby glue
pieces of coloured cardboard
2 paint brushes
gold paint
gold colored adhesive tape
makeup brand logo
pencil and ruler
scissors (or Stanley knife, adults only)
This time we are making a surprise for a girl, a makeup box. We don't put in makeup as a gift, but something completely different, some cute school supplies! She asked Sinterklaas for those ;)) Find a flat empty box (which surely can not be too difficult in these times). We take this one from Zara, it is just right!
Here is how you make the makeup box
Trace the box twice on gold cardboard.
Cut out both pieces.
Trace the 4 sides of the box.
Cut out the 4 strips.
Cut out 1 long and 2 shorter strips extra, to stick on the inside of the box, the same size as the strips on the outside
Tape the corners on the front.
Stick the topside on the box.
Spread the glue to the edges
Press the cardboard on top of the box.
Put heavy books in and on the box
Glue on the strips as well.
Allow all the glue to dry really well.
Stick the underside on the box and then also stick the strips on the inside too, allow all to dry well again!
Cut out a rectangle to fit in the box, with 2 borders.
Score the borders of the rectangle and fold them.
Trace circles on makeup coloured cardboard.
The tray you've just made is actually a double bottom that exactly fits into the box, so the present can come out easily
Neatly cut out the cardboard circles.
Paint the wooden brushes golden.
Stick the circles and brushes on the tray.
Cut a silver rectangle the size of the box.
Print a makeup logo (we like Covergirl) and stick it on top of the box (photo top right)
Stick the 'mirror' on the inside of the lid.
Wrap the presents, put inside, tray on top and you are done!
Lots of succes with your surprise and have fun on december 5th in school!
