Today we're making a lovely bed for the dollhouse. That way, the resident can sleep soundly at night and be well-rested for the new day. What could be better than a nice wash after a fun day of play, brushing teeth, and off to bed? Maybe a story and then a good night's sleep! We think everyone will agree with that!
How to make a wonderful bed
Measure 2x 6cm and 2x 10.5cm and draw marks on the wood.
Saw off the 4 pieces of wood and neatly sand the saw ends.
Glue the 4 beams in a rectangle and let the glue dry.
Saw 4 pieces of rounded wood to stick around the bed.
Place glue clamps on the outside edge of the bed.
Saw off 6 slats for the slatted base of the bed.
Sand the crude sawed off ends neatly smooth.
Glue the slats into the bed.
Place clamps on the two beams.
Glue 4 wooden beads under the bed.
Let the glue dry completely.
To make a mattress, blanket and pillow you can print our pattern in PDF and cut it out
Start with the mattrass
Pin the pattern on the felt and cut it out twice.
Cut the edge out of felt (in two pieces if needed).
Sew the edge to the mattress using the blanket stitch.
Pin the top onto the mattrass but leave an opening.
Blanket stitch the top up to the opening, leave the thread hanging on.
Stuff the mattrass with sheep's wool then sew the opening closed.
How to make a blanket
Pin the blanket pattern on the felt.
Cut it out and blanket stitch neatly al around.
Tie the thread off firmly but inconspicuously.
Finally make a pillow, using the blanket stitch again
Pin the pattern on felt and cut it out twice.
Blanket stitch the pillow on 3 sides.
Leave one side open and stuff the pillow.
Sew the open side closed and your little bed is made!
And what a lovely little bed you have made!
