White paint and a wooden skewer

We're making a garland for the birthday boy or girl, featuring his favorite game, Super Mario. We'll start easy, making Mario clouds and stars. Then we'll have a bit of a challenge for you, featuring one of Mario's enemies, Goomba. He has a few more parts, but we've drawn a pattern for you; just print and cut it out. How handy!

How to make Super Mario Clouds

Trace the clouds on white cardboard.

Cut out the clouds neatly.

Draw on eyes with the marker.

Set the clouds aside.

Make Super Mario stars in the same way

Trace the star and cut them out.

Draw on eyes with the black marker.

Dab dots on the eyes using the skewer.

Here is how to make the funny Goomba's, make them look really angry!

Cut out all loose pattern parts.

Trace it all on the cardboard.

Mind you use all the right colours.

Cut out all the parts neatly.

Glue the parts together to look like a Goomba

Allow the glue to dry completely, the glue stick works better!

Later on we'll make more figures and assemble the garland!
