What do you need?
Beautifully coloured, small autumn leaves
glass jars
mod podge
a paintbrush
elastic bands
a piece of cord or string
an LED candle or tealight
For the Thanksgiving dinner table, we are making beautiful autumn lanterns with the mini-monsters. We have saved empty glass jars and gathered beautiful little autumn leaves, so we are ready to start. We are going to glue with Mod Podge, let it dry and then just wait until it gets dark, to light the lanterns!
Here is how to make the autumn lanterns
Brush a thin layer of modpodge on the jar.
Leave the jar for a moment until the glue gets sticky.
Then press leaves on the jar and cut off too long stems.
Set the lantern aside and let the Modpodge dry well.
Put on elastic bands, to keep the leaves in their places.
Then
Wait for the Modpodge to dry thoroughly again.
Stick a string around the edge of the jar and put in a candle.
Tomorrow, when it starts to get dark, you light the candles.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
