1 tablespoon oil or 20g butter
20g flour
150 ml vegetable stock
75 ml (whipped) cream
1 teaspoon soy sauce
½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
Today we are making a Swedish sauce that goes well with the Swedish meatballs that we are going to make tomorrow. That doesn't mean you can't eat mayonnaise, tomato ketchup or sweet and sour chili sauce with the meatballs. All this can also taste good, but this is the authentic Swedish cream sauce, for the enthusiast!
How to make Swedish cream sauce
Melt the butter.
Stir in the flour.
Add the vegetable stock.
Stir in the vegetable stock firmly.
Add the cream and stir it in.
Stir in the soy sauce too.
Finally add the mustard.
Stir it well and allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
Our sauce could have been slightly thinner!
TIP! Keep in mind that the sauce will be thicker when completely cooled!
Tomorrow the Swedish meatballs!
