250 grams of self-raising flour
a bag of vanilla sugar
3 free-range organic eggs
150 ml milk
gel food colouring
piece of kictchen paper
a teaspoon sunflower oil
icing sugar
a piece white and black fondant icing
We bake pancakes for our little birthday boy, but not just ordinary pancakes of course! We make pancake art, with all kinds of beloved animals in a cozy garden. It takes some work, but it's not every day that our little monster has a birthday! We bake and the other monsters can be creative with coloured batter. You pipe these pancakes into a cold pan it is totally safe!
How to make pancake art
Make a thick pancake batter
Sift the self-raising flour into a large bowl.
Stir the sachet vanilla sugar into the flour.
Make a large well in the flour mixture.
Crack the eggs into the well in the flour mixture.
Stir the eggs into the flour.
Add the milk gradually while stirring.
Stir it into a thick, smooth batter.
Divide the batter between 5 bowls.
Stir in a colour.
Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle.
Stir in the other colours too.
Cour the fifth bowl black.
How to bake pancake art
Rub the pan with a teaspoon of sunflower oil.
Pipe various figures into the cold pan.
Bake briefly on low heat, then flip over.
Let the pan cool down and grease it again.
- Preheat the oven to the lowest setting and then turn it off
- Place a large plate in the oven to keep the pancakes warm while you are baking
- Add the new figures to the warm plate after each baking
At first keep the figures simple.
Try something else when used to piping.
Keep the pancakes warm.
Finally cut small eyes out of fondant icing.
