all kinds of coloured paper & thin cardstock
tissue paper and tissues
glitter cardstock and toilet rolls
acrylic paint and brushes
watercolours and brushes
hobby glue and glitter glue
scissors
pompoms
all kinds of sparkling decorations
Today we are making butterflies in shapes and sizes, because spring is coming. We pull out all the stops because the mini-monsters love cutting & pasting and glitter & gold! Later we hang the butterflies and of course we also make some with which the pups can run around. We'll start with that, because when glue or paint has to dry, impatience sets in and they can already run around ;))
How to make the butterflies
l. The run around butterflies
Print our PDF and cut out the template.
Trace it on thick cardboard.
Cut out the 2 parts.
Trace it on coloured cardstock.
Cut out the parts and glue them together.
Stick a lollipop stick on the back.
Let the glue dry completely.
Decorate the butterflies with glitter glue and faux gems
Stick on feelers using pipe cleaners.
Let the glue dry again and ... ready!
ll. How to make clothes pin butterflies
Paint the clothes pegs gold and silver.
Let the paint dry.
Brush glitter glue on 1 side.
Allow the glue to dry completely
Stick the wings and feelers between the clothes peg.
Decorate the butterflies with glitter glue.
lll. Cardboard Butterflies
Print the PDF template
Cut out the wings and face and trace them.
Paint the rolls and the face.
Let it dry and draw the face on.
Stick the head on the body.
Stick the feelers on.
Cut the wings out of cardstock.
Stick the wings on the back.
Allow the glue to dry completely
Decorate the butterflies.
Stick on eyes and cheeks.
Allow the glitter glue to dry well.
