The book we are reading today is called Gozert, it was written by Pieter Koolwijk and illustrated by Linde Faas. It won the 2018 Golden Griffel and the book is widely praised. That is not surprising because it is a very special book.
It is written for children aged 10-12 years and that is not without reason because it is also a difficult book, in some places. One that will make you think a lot, but we like that! The readers think - just like the monsters - it is a wonderful book, with a lot of humor and at the same time you learn a lot from it.
This book was published in 2020 and two more parts have been published since then. Luna in 2021 and Abort Mission in 2023, also with beautiful illustrations by Linde Faas. But the books can also be read separately. Our monsters love Gozert, very funny and with a completely unexpected ending. You'll just have to see what you think for yourself.
