On Sunday 16 October there is a special children's program at the Hortus: the Green Children's Book Sunday! The theme that the children's book week in collaboration with the Hortus Botanicus Leiden had was Gi-ga-green. During the Green Children's Book Sunday you can read or look in beautiful books yourself, there is a reading aloud hour, you can draw and colour and of course look around the beautiful Botanical Garden. Admission is free, you only need a ticket for the Hortus. Children under 4 years old can enter for free.
Throughout the year there are fun activities for children in the Hortus, including the sidewalk plants! You can enjoy a delicious tea or coffee in the sun, without kids, which might also be an idea. And if you subscribe to the newsletter you are always informed of what is going on.
A fun ending to the Gi-ga-groen Children's Book Week and a beautiful, relaxing autumn walk through the beautiful garden, what more could you want on a free Sunday?
