First we make a spider of old fashioned, woolen pompoms
Trace a big glass twice, cut out the circles.
Trace a small glass twice, in the centre of the circles.
Cut a cross in the centre of the small circles.
Cut out the small circle around the cross.
Repeat this with two smaller glasses, so you have 2 large circles for the body and two smaller ones for the head.
Wrap wool around 2x two of the same circles.
When the hole is nearly filled cut the wool between the circles.
Tie a knot around the wool, slide off the circles.
Trim the pompom neatly, leave the tie off threads.
Repeat the whole process with the two smaller circles, so you will have two pompons.
Stick the eyes on the spiderhead.
Cut four pieces of chenille, bend them then stick to the body.
Tie the pompoms together with the threads, cut them off.
Tie a nylon thread between head and body, on top a loop.
How to make a static spiderweb
Draw a glitter glue web on transparent foil.
Cut it out when the glue is dry.
Hang the spider in the web.
On the left picture, the web is stuck on the inside of the window. On the middle photo, it is on the outside so the web is well visible on the photograph. It sticks to the window because the foil is static, which also makes it easy to move.
Happy Halloween!
