When Madelief comes over we always go into the kitchen, she likes to bake cakes&cookies but also cupcakes and all kinds of other delicious sweet bakes. This time she wants to make chocolate shapes with balloons, as seen on Pinterest but to her own taste. In summer that means to Madelief: with strawberries!
We start with filling the water balloons with air.
Place two fingers of water in a pan and put a bowl on top.
Break the chocolate and melt it on a low heat.
Dip the balloons in the melted chocolate.
Let the chocolate drip from the balloon for a moment.
Put the chocolate balloon on tin foil to dry.
Wait until the chocolate has hardened.
Carefully snip the knot from the balloon.
Put the chocolate shapes in the fridge for a moment because the chocolate is thin and melts quickly in summer. And it works a lot easier if the shapes have hardened.
Take the shrivelled balloons out of the chocolate shapes.
Cut small circles out of the cake with a cookie cutter.
Place the cake circles in the chocolate shapes.
Crush 5 strawberries per shape and put them on the cake.
Whisk the cream and mascarpone together with the sugar stiff.
Scoop the cream mixture in a plastic bag from which you cut a tip.
Pipe the chocolate shapes full to the brim with the cream mixture.
Decorate the shapes with the rest of the strawberries and other fruit.
Keep the chocolate shapes in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
