Many books have already been written about Greek mythology for children. But in 2021 the first part of a very fun book series named Small library of classical myths was published, called Theseus and the Minotaur. A book in simple language about the Ancient Greek Gods and heroes to read yourself (AVI 4). This book series is very well written by the Italian author of children's books Eleonora Fornasari. Today we read together. part 2, about Hercules
Hercules is a favorite hero here, because he had to do 12 very difficult tasks. But Hercules is sharp, very strong and not afraid, but he does not like to fight. He would rather do good. Very nice about this series is the explanation in the front of the book. It tells you about who Hercules actually is and who the others are, who appear in the book.
The cool illustrations in this series were made by Hungarian illustrator Anna Lang, who lives in Italy. They are funny and comic-like, exactly what we like. In the meantime, 4 parts have been translated into Dutch, in May 2022 Zeus and Odysseus were published. The books are read with great pleasure here! In Italy, 2 more parts were published in 2023: Medusa and Daedalus and Icarus. We hope that these 2 parts will also be translated into Dutch, but unfortunately that chance is getting smaller by the day. :( Also sad, none of this books are translated into English!
3 bright shining stars for Hercules, from our little readers and their large listeners!
