Shopping list
125g butter (room temperature)
125g caster sugar
1 free-range organic egg (small)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
250g (Zeeland) or plain flour
½ teaspoon of baking powder

Decoration
Various fall colours fondant icing

With such nice cutters we want to start baking right away, autumn leaves, the little monsters love them. In Autumn we liked to bake gingerbread, delicious with gingerbread spices including cinnamon. But since it has become known that cinnamon contains lead and that it is not healthy for anyone, especially not for small children, cinnamon has been banned by us.

At least until we have fully figured out what exactly is going on with it. Such a shame! That is why today we are going to use our old trusted recipe again, with flour from the windmill, cow & calf butter and an organic egg. We will not talk about the fondant icing, the monsters love it! As long as they do not eat it every day. You can also go too far and not eat any more, but that is not healthy either. :(

How to make yummie Autumn Biscuits

Mix the butter and sugar until creamy, in +/- 10 minutes.

Beat the egg, mix egg and vanilla into the butter mixture.

Add sieved flour with baking powder to the mixture, in 3 parts.

Briefly mix the flour with baking powder ino the butter-egg mixture.

Knead until smooth by hand.

Shape the dough into a ball.

Cover the dough and put it in the fridge.

Allow the dough to cool for an hour, knead it briefly by hand and place baking paper on the baking tray

Roll the dough to 1cm thickness.

Cut out Autumn leaves.

Place them on the baking tray.

Put the biscuits 30 mins. in the fridge.

Preheat the oven to 175°C and then slide the baking tray in the middle of the oven

Bake the biscuits in 12-15 minutes golden.

Let the biscuits cool on the tray for a moment.

Let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Cut out various colours of fondant icing, while the biscuits cool.

Stick the icing on the Autumn biscuits with some drops of water.
