Het huis van Sinterklaas

Today at noon the Sint arrives and then we read picture book Het huis van Sinterklaas (Sinterklaas's House ), to the young monsters. That's a delightful picture book by Dutch children's author Naomi Tieman and illustrator Marieke Nelissen. The story is very funny, and so are the cute illustrations! We reread the book every year, and even though we know how it goes, we always have much much fun with it.

Throughout Sinterklaas's (super-sized) house, mischievous Piets are scattered everywhere, they  mind the place. While the good Sinterklaas, along with his helpers, is hard at work giving the children in the Netherlands a wonderful presents evening. But the little Piets love Sinterklaas very much, so when he comes home with the older Piets, they also have a celebration!

This is definitely one of the most fun Sinterklaas books we have on our shelves, as you've probably already gathered. Don't forget to check out both ladies' websites!
