In September, we love to get outside (not only in September, of course), but especially in September! Autumn has begun so from mid-September onwards, we'll be scouring all of Rotterdam's parks for autumn treasures.
We've put our little Puk in the stroller, and we're ready to go! Today we're going to the Lage Bergse Bos, a really big recreational park in Rotterdam. The parc lies between the Hilligersberg area and Bleiswijk. Let's see what treasure we can find there :)))
Puk immediately goes looking and finds all sorts of things. First of all, mushrooms! Puk loves them, but he already knows you're not allowed to touch them, only look at them. Then another call, now Puk's found hazelnuts. Well done Puk! Yes, go ahead, pick them up, we'll take those home.
We have a lovely walk; the weather is wonderful, sunny, nice and soft. We don't see many autumn leaves yet; there's still a lot of green here. But when we go home, the bag hanging from Puk's stroller is almost full! We have hazelnuts, acorns, beechnuts, and some other things we don't recognize :))
We've found various beautiful autumn treasures, but not many beautiful autumn leaves yet. We might have to be patient a little longer. In early October, we'll find beautiful leaves at school, in various autumn colours, those we'll take home!
At home, the monsters are eager to paint the leaves, but they'll need to practise some patience again first. We'll have to dry the leaves first, which will take another week or two. But then they're ready to go. We'll get all the supplies ready, and it'll be beautiful!
