The Proudest Blue is a beautiful, touching picture book about two brave sisters. The book is written by a very special woman, her name is Ibtihaj Muhammad, she is an Olympic fencing medallist.
She is the first American Muslim woman to compete in the Olympics in a hijab. She is not a children's book writer by profession, but she wrote her book together with children's book author A.K. Ali and Ms. Ali has won several prestigious awards for her books already.
The drawings are by Egyptian illustrator Hatem Aly and we love them. The illustrations are colourful, in all shades of beautiful blue and the sisters have very sweet faces. The mini-monsters like this picture book very much, it is also due to the appealing illustrations.
