A fun Dutch Little Golden Book which is named The girl in the golden dress. It is very well written by Dutch author Jan Paul Schutten. The story is not just about a girl in a beautiful dress.

The book is mainly about the girl Nettie, but also about Rembrandt and the painting of his world-famous, unusually large painting The Night Watch. That you - as you may already know - can see up close in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Everyone wants to be at the front of the painting, but of course that is not possible, then it would have to be even bigger! The men all talk at once about how important and how good they are. Who would Rembrandt paint in front? You can read it in this book.

The beautiful illustrations are made by Martijn van der Linden and he did a beautiful job. The illustrations take you into 1642 and Amsterdam back then looks stunning!

3 bright shining stars for The girl in the golden dress, from the mini listeners and the readers!
