Het touw en de Waarheid

We don not want to tell you here every week how special almost every book we read is. We like to give our honest opinion and we are a little worried we'd bore you. But...we'll take that risk anyway, because  Het Touw en de Waarheid (The Rope and the Truth), beautifully written by Marco Kunst, is truly a very special book. It moves and touches you.

Het Touw en de Waarheid is richly illustrated by Dutch illustrator Jeska Verstegen. The beautiful illustrations enhance the story and create so much atmosphere. We always refer to the websites of authors and illustrators, but don't be misled by the opening image on Jeska Verstegen's website. You can see some of her awesome work here on snazzie, and we've also Googled for you. (We're sad to tell you that this beautiful book has not been translated into English).
