We just read in our new comic book how St. Martin cut a piece of his cloak with his sword to help a poor man. So we didn't have to think about it for long; we baked swords for St. Martin's Day. Exactly the way our little monsters like their biscuits best, with vanilla and fondant icing.

Here is how you make St. Martin's Sword biscuits

Make the dough as described in the PDF and place it in the refrigerator to rest for 1 hour, before baking

Take the dough out of the fridge after the hour has passed.

Knead the dough briefly, by hand.

Roll out the dough and cut out swords.

Place the swords on the baking tray, lined with baking paper.

Preheat the oven to 175°C

Bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes until the edges colour. golden.

Let thebiscuit  rest on the tray for 5 minutes.

Allow the biscuits to cool comepletely on a wire rack.

While the biscuits cool you cut out the icing already

We first knead white fondant icing with a small piece of black (but maybe you can buy light grey) and then roll out the fondant icing thinly

Cut swords out of grey fondant icing. and flip them over.

Brush the back with a drop of water.

Lightly press the icing swords onto the biscuit swords.

Cut out the hilts of the swords.

Stick them on the biscuits and let the icing dry.

The swords are lookng good, let's make the tea!

We wish you a fun Saint Martin's Day!
