The gardens of Trompenburg are beautiful in every season, there are very old, special trees, there is water everywhere, often with bridges over it. The plants and bare trees are also beautiful in winter and also there is an evergreen conifer avenue, where it smells wonderful. We love the silence, the spacious almost empty garden and the nice walk in the fresh winter air.
We come across small fields of snowdrops and holly bushes with beautiful red winter berries, somewhat looted by the birds. It is very quiet around the beehives and there are no sheep in the sheep meadow now either, they are nice and warm in the stable.
The favorites of our Puk are there and those are the Koi Carp! Slowly they slide through the water, cozily huddled together. We can already see the orange color floating through the water from afar, you have to come closer if you want to be the black carp. We also see a beautiful yellow/green, very special so Puk is happy!
Moorhens are scurrying through the grass and that's so lovely here. We are in a very large garden but there are not only many different kinds of trees, shrubs, plants and mushrooms to be seen. You will also encounter all kinds of animals here and funnily enough often unexpected ones as well. Wether you like them all is a matter of taste.
After a long walk we go for tea and coffee. All year round you will find us - inside or outside - at the tea house, you can sit there lovely under the trees. Now, because of winter, the tea house is closed and you can enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee, gluten-free brownies and lunch in the space at the entrance.
Outside there are some different plants for sale, not as many varieties as in the other seasons, but still very pretty! Of course we can't leave without a few pots of hardy violets. When we got home we put them in the garden, just as they are, they brighten things up right away! With Puk's class still in lockdown, we had wonderful morning again!
