Wooden Houses

To write and draw on

What do you need?
a piece of wood 7 cm wide and 1 cm thick
a pencil
a miter box and a saw
sandpaper
wood glue and glue clamps
masking tape
chalkboard paint and a paintroller

These fun wooden houses are easy to make and you don't need much materials. With a wooden slat and some chalkboard paint, you're all set. We assume everyone has a piece of sandpaper and a roll of masking tape ;))

We sawed two parts for each little house of 10, 12 and 14 cm hgh and glued them together,. Otherwise the wood would be too thick to saw it by hand. Our little monsters will have a lot of fun with the houses, because they can write and draw on them, with chalk.

How to make the little houses

Saw off 3 x 2 pieces of wood, of  3 various sizes.

Saw off the tops of the slats at an angle.

Sand the sawed off edges nieatly until  smooth.

Squeeze some wood glue on 3 differetn size houses.

Distribute the glue evenly over the wood.

Squeeze glue all around along the edges.

Press the second part on the glue.

Place glue clamps on the house.

Allow the glue to dry overnight.

Sand the glue off the edges.

Stick masking tape on the front.

Paint the front of the houses black and let them dry overnight..

The monsters really like the little houses.

They start drawing on them right away ;)))
