Today the little monsters are reading to us from 'ik lees graag' (I like to read), a book from the 'lezen is leuk' (Reading is fun) series by Anne Blokker. The fun thing about this self-paced read-alone book is that it contains 12 short stories. Some stories are very short—just one page—so you could say they're mini. Others are just short and about all sorts of things, like birthdays, pets, being late, and pirates, for example. A good book series for beginning readers.
The fun illustrations in i like to read are by Dutch artist /illustrator Alex de Wolf; check out his website to see more of his work. Our little monsters are having a blast with this book; they're already reading really well! The letters are nice and large, there are no capital letters, and the short chapters are encouraging. That's a quick and easy read, another story finished!
