Today a recipe by one of snazzie's favorites: British food writer / journalist / tv personality , Nigel Slater. Not only is he very likeable, his recipe's are always delicious and easy to make. That's exactly what the snazzie kitchen princesses like! We make a cheese scone, not just any old cheese scone but a giant!
How to make Nigel Slater's cheese scone
Sieve flour and baking powder into a big bowl.
Add the butter cubes and rub them into the flour.
The flour should resemble coarse crumbs now.
Pour in the milk then stir with a wooden spoon.
Grate or crumble the cheeses.
Add the cheese to the dough.
Knead in gently by hand.
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Shape the dough into a ball and brush on milk.
Sprinkle the ball with cheese and flatten it slightly.
Slash it 4 times with a sharp knife.
Bake the bread in approximately 20 minutes golden brown.
On the slashes the cheese scone breaks easily.
Delicious with herb and garlic butter, enjoy!
