How much fun is it to read so much about rats in the Year of the Rat? If you have looked at our snazzie Book Top 10 this summer vacation, you have already met Tom Moorhouse. He is a British author of children's books and an ecologist at the Oxford University Zoology Department.

Trickster is a fantasy / adventure story, exciting, sometimes sad and with a lot of action. Rats are super smart animals, while you are reading you learn a lot about them and that makes Trickster such a great book. You want to read quickly to the end and then you're sorry it's finished already! ;)

In the Dutch translation of this book the illustrations are by Sonja Evers. The sober black-and-white drawings match nicely with what you read, we immediately loved them when we opened the book, very beautiful! The entire ratpack of Trickster is depicted on the opening pages.

The mini- and maxi-monsters agree, the book is wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated!
