On December 13th, the Swedish Lucia Day is celebrated at school. At home, we just make something festive and delicious, but it has to come from Sweden. ;)) Today we give you the recipe for a Swedish flat chocolate cake. The taste is similar to Brownies, so we like it very much. But the cake is called differently in Swedish: Kladdkaka. Isn't that a funny name?
How to make Kladdkaka
Cut the butter into slices.
Beat sugar and eggs until combined.
Melt the butter on low heat.
Pour the butter into the egg mixture.
Beat until all is well combined.
Weigh and measure flour, cocoa and salt.
Add it in 1 go to the egg and butter mixture.
Fold everything together lightly until you have a chocolate batter
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 180°C Fan
Air bubbles appear in the batter.
Clamp waxed paper in the tin and grease it.
Pour the batter into the spring form and tilt the form.
Until the batter covers the whole bottom of the baking tin.
Bake the cake for approximately 15 minutes.
Allow the cake cool in the baking tin for 1 hour.
Serve the cake lukewarm or cold.
If you want to serve the Kladdkaka cold, then store it covered in the fridge
Sift a thin layer of cocoa powder over the cake.
Decorate the cake with evergreen leaves and candles.
Serve the kladdkaka with whipped cream and fresh raspberries, have a beautiful Lucia Day!
