Shopping list
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
pinch cinnamon
pinch 5 spice powder
2 large pork loin steaks
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 carrot & ½ lime
pinch golden caster sugar
½ cucumber
soft lettuce leaves
wraps
optional: sweet chili sauce
These wraps (or buns) with marinated pork are perfect for the weekend or if you just want to make a quick bite. With the vegetables included you have everything that you need to eat healthy.
How to make the fresh wraps
Mix soy, honey, sugar, cinnamon
with 5 spices & 1 tbspoon water.
Place the pork in it.
Marinate it 30 mins. each side.
Meanwhile prepare the vegetables
Wash, peel and scrape the vegetables.
Cut carrot and cucumber into matchsticks.
Juice the half lime.
Stir lime juice and sugar into the carrots.
Grill the pork steaks
Brush the griddle with olive oil but keep an eye on the pork, the sugar in the marinade may blacken!
Grill the pork steaks +/- 4 minutes on each side.
Put lettuce on the wrap or bun then divide the meat between them.
Place carrot and cucumber on top and serve (optionally) with sweet chili sauce. Delicious!!
